Call to Worship (based on Psalm 130)

L: Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD.
P: Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
L: If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, who could stand?
P: But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.
L: I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;
P: O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love.

   

The Universal Prayer

Lord, I believe in You: increase my faith.
I trust in You: strengthen my trust.
I love You: let me love You more and more.
I am sorry for my sins: deepen my sorrow.
 I worship You as my first beginning,
 I long for You as my last end,
I praise You as my constant helper, and I call on You as my loving protector.
Guide me by Your wisdom, correct me with
Your justice, comfort me with Your mercy,
protect me with Your power. Amen.

 

Prayer of Confession:

Holy God, merciful and mighty Father, we lose our way so easily. It doesn’t happen all at once. We do not turn our backs on you in an instant; not all at once. We turn a fraction of a degree at a time; and over time our backs are toward you; and we are indeed lost in a thicket of motives and a wilderness of sins. Our faith teaches us that your grace is not like our trespass. Little by little we have turned away, but in our Lord Jesus Christ you confront us all at once with our sin and our salvation. We lift up our eyes to you this morning. We confess our sins to you; forgive us our trespasses. Help us find our way. This we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

   

A declaration for the day of God

This is the day of God Our LORD

This is the day of freedom

This is the day of no more debt

This is the day of restoration

This is the day of reformation

This is the day of revival

This is the day of favor

This is the day of God’s love flowing through His children

This is the day of God’s passion as fire burning over the nations

Trust the Lord, with all your heart for the Lord will provide.

This is the day of God in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

  

A prayer for boldness to witness

Lord grant me courage to tell people about your overwhelming grace and love. Lord Give me more boldness to proclaim your wonderful works so that some may find you and enter into communion with you.

Let me be a fresh wind to someone who has grown hopeless and lifeless.
May my heart's desire be to reach out to those who are lost, blind, hungry and naked, so that they may truly know your love and peace. Jesus let me never be discouraged when people reject you; give me the strength to face the persecution that lays wait for me all for your name's sake.

Give me strength lord that I may continue in your marvelous light. Amen.

 

 

Closing Prayer:

Jesus, let my faith be ever increasing. Let me love be genuine and not self serving. Let my manner of living be a witness that you are alive. Amen.
